D-backs drop third straight

Arizona lost by a score of 3-2 Tuesday night at New York to drop to 75-70 overall and 39-37 on the road. Eduardo Escobar helped lead the Diamondbacks offense as he ended the game 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Ketel Marte went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored. Nick Ahmed finished 2-for-4 as well. Zac Gallen suffered the loss as he gave up three earned runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and two walks over six innings. Robbie Ray gets the start tonight for Arizona as he enters with a 12-7 record, 4.03 ERA and 1.32 WHIP plus 207 strikeouts over 156 1/3 innings pitched.

Frazier drives in three

New York held off visiting Arizona Tuesday night with a 3-2 win to improve to 74-70 overall and 40-29 at home. Todd Frazier paced the Mets offensively as he ended the contest 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Robinson Cano finished 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Michael Conforto went 1-for-4 with a double. Zack Wheeler picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on seven hits with seven strikeouts and one walk over seven innings. Justin Wilson notched the save as he gave up two hits with one strikeout and one walk over 1 1/3 scoreless innings. MLB Betting Trends

The Diamondbacks are 4-0 in their last four games versus a left-handed starting pitcher. Arizona is 5-1 in the last six Ray starts.

New York

The Mets are 4-1 in the last five Matz home starts. New York is 3-8 in its last 11 home games.

The Diamondbacks have played well in recent Ray starts and this is a big game for Arizona as it is still in the thick of the NL Wild Card race and needs to snap its recent skid. With the Mets alternating between very good and very poor all season, I’m going to fade them here as it seems things might be trending positive right now and that is when you should trust New York the least.
