Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin

Ozzie Albies stacked up four hits including a pair of home runs Wednesday in a win over Minnesota. You knew it was going to be a good afternoon for Albies, who drilled a 444-foot rope to left-center in the game’s opening at-bat. Albies never took his foot off the gas pedal, adding a single in the third, another one in the fourth and a solo blast—his second of the day—in the sixth inning. Both of his jacks came off left-hander Martin Perez, who was bombed for 11 hits and seven runs (six earned) in Wednesday’s defeat. The multi-homer game was the fourth of Albies’ career and his third already this season.

Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin

Brian Anderson smashed his team-leading 18th long ball Wednesday in a loss to New York. Anderson delivered his lone hit, a one-out solo shot off left-hander Steven Matz, in the sixth inning. He went hitless with a pair of strikeouts in his other three at-bats. The 26-year-old has been on a power surge of sorts, accounting for five homers in his last 11 contests. Unfortunately, it hasn’t helped much in the win column as Miami has dropped eight of 11 during that span.

MLB Betting Trends

Atlanta

The Braves are 21-8 in their last 29 games after allowing five runs or more in their previous contest.

Miami

The Marlins have lost 56 of their last 82 games following a loss.

Prediction:

Elieser Hernandez has allowed five home runs in his 10 2/3 innings of work and will now face one of the better offenses in baseball. The Braves are 37-16 in their last 53 games against the Marlins and are 54-25 in their last 79 contests in Miami. While Atlanta is 5-2 in its last seven divisional games, Miami is just 17-43 in its last 60 games against NL East opponents. The Marlins have also dropped six straight and nine out of 12 games that Hernandez has started.

The Pick: Atlanta Braves -1.5 (-115)
