According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 80% of the betting tickets are on the Braves to beat the Marlins on the moneyline.

Atlanta Braves Fantasy Spin

Ronald Acuna went 2-for-4 and smacked a solo home run in a loss to the Marlins on Thursday. The rest of the Braves managed just three hits in addition to Acuna’s pair of knocks. He bashed a bases-empty homer against Tayron Guerrero in the eighth inning with his team in a 9-0 hole at the time. Acuna is having another spectacular season, slashing .295/.375/.522 with 30 home runs, 75 RBI, 94 runs scored and 26 stolen bases in 115 games. He is poised to be an early first-round pick in fantasy drafts for the next decade.

Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin

Brian Anderson went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in a 9-2 triumph over the Braves on Thursday. He enjoyed his first tour around the bases so much in the first inning that he did it again in the fourth. Both dingers came against Braves starter Dallas Keuchel. Anderson has now homered seven times in his last twelve games. He hit just 11 home runs in 156 games last year and has nearly doubled that in 113 games this season. The increased power has come at the expense of some batting average but his owners will take it anyway. Anderson has a .252 batting average with 58 RBI and five stolen bases.

MLB Betting Trends

Atlanta

The Braves are 10-2 in their last 12 games after scoring two runs or less in their previous contest.

Miami

The Marlins are 2-9 in their last 11 games after scoring five runs or more in their previous contest.

Prediction:

I’m going to take a flier on the Marlins with Caleb Smith toeing the rubber tonight in Miami. The Marlins have won five of Smith’s last six starts, are 6-1 in his last seven outings at home and are 8-3 in his last 11 starts when facing an opponent that scored two runs or fewer in its previous game. The Braves, meanwhile, have dropped four out of their last five games when facing an opponent with a winning percentage below .400.

The Pick: Miami Marlins +130
