Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Red Sox, 4/13/2019 Predictions & Odds

The Red Sox offense came alive on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to help bettors cash the over. Will Boston and Baltimore get over that threshold on Saturday afternoon when the AL East rivals meet at 1:05 p.m. ET?

Public Betting Trends

According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 62% of the betting tickets are on the Red Sox to beat the Orioles on the moneyline.

Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin

Dwight Smith Jr. homered for the second consecutive game on Friday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Orioles past the Red Sox. Smith crushed a two-run blast off of Eduardo Rodriguez in the seventh inning, pulling the Orioles to within a run at 3-2, but that would be as close as they would get. He finished the night 1-for-4 and is now slashing .278/.304/.444 with a pair of long balls and six RBI on the season. If he’s hanging around on waiver wires in shallow mixed leagues, he may be worth a look.

Boston Red Sox Fantasy Spin

Xander Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs scored as the Red Sox topped the Orioles on Friday night in Boston. The hard-hitting shortstop delivered an RBI double in the fourth inning that increased the Red Sox early edge to 2-0. He’s off to a hot start at the plate this season, slashing .311/.436/.489 with a homer and four RBI.

MLB Betting Trends

The under is 5-1-1 in Rick Porcello’s last seven starts for the Red Sox when they face the Orioles.

The Red Sox are just 1-4 in Porcello’s last five home starts versus the Orioles.

The Red Sox offense started out of the gates a little slow but have turned things up over their last three games. After scoring combing for 12 runs in their two games against the Blue Jays, the BoSox crossed the plate six times last night and their bullpen nearly helped over bettors cash by allowing a couple of late runs in the ninth. That said, with the number sitting at 10.5, the 6-4 final on Friday night fell just under. Given Boston’s matchup with Andrew Cashner and the fact that the Red Sox pitching staff has struggled mightily to start the season, I’m not going to shy away from the over again today.

The Pick: Orioles/Red Sox OVER 11
