Gleyber Torres finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Brett Gardner walked twice in four plate appearances. Masahiro Tanaka picked up the win as he allowed one earned run on three hits with four strikeouts and one walk over five innings.

Bogaerts homers in defeat

Xander Bogaerts finished 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Game 2 to help lead the Red Sox offense. Mitch Moreland was 1-for-3 and scored a run. Ian Kinsler finished 1-for-4 with an RBI double. MLB Betting Trends

Boston

The Red Sox are 8-1 in their last nine Monday games. The over is 6-1-1 in the last eight Boston games overall.

New York

The over is 8-1 in the last nine Yankees games overall. New York is 8-3 in its last 11 home games versus the Red Sox.

Prediction:

Severino has looked sharp again over his last few starts including in the AL Wild Card Game. I’d expect him to be strong again tonight before turning it over to one of the best pullpens in baseball. Expect run support as Eovaldi is inconsistent and will likely struggle in the home run haven of Yankee Stadium. Go with the hosts on the run line as this could be another rout.
