Browns vs. Ravens, 9/29/19 NFL Week 4 Predictions & Betting Odds

The Browns find themselves 1-2 and a touchdown-sized underdog on the road today versus AFC North rival the Ravens at 1:00 p.m. ET. Are the Ravens a good bounce back play for bettors after suffering their first loss of the season last week in KC?

Game Snapshot

253 Cleveland Browns (+7) at 254 Baltimore Ravens (-7); O/U 45

1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, September 29, 2019

M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD

Public Betting Trends

According to our NFL Football Public Betting Chart page, the Ravens are receiving 59% of the betting tickets from online sportsbooks.

Cleveland Browns Fantasy Spin

Rashard Higgins (knee) is questionable for Week 4 against the Ravens. Higgins finished the week with a pair of DNPs after getting in a limited session Wednesday. We’re guessing he’ll sit this one out, though the Browns may wait until Sunday morning to make their final call. Damion Ratley would start in the very likely event that Higgins can’t go.

Baltimore Ravens Fantasy Spin

Ravens TE Mark Andrews (foot) said, “I’m feeling good and I’m excited to play the Browns.” Andrews played over 50% of the offense’s snaps in each of the past two weeks after never surpassing that threshold as a rookie, so limited reps don’t appear to be in the equation. Continue to fire up Andrews as a high-end TE1 thanks to his average of eight targets per game and status as one of the league’s few talents at the position capable of producing consistent big plays.

NFL Betting Trends

Cleveland

The road team is 13-5-1 against the spread in the last 19 meetings between these two teams but the Browns have failed to cover in five of their last seven matchups with the Ravens.

Baltimore

The Ravens have failed to cover in four of their last five games dating back to last year and are winless against the number in their last four home games, including as a 13-point favorite versus the Cardinals in Week 2 this season.

Prediction

The Browns are incredibly banged-up. Five players missed practice on Thursday, including defensive backs Denzel Ward, Greedy Williams and Morgan Burnett. Right tackle Chris Hubbard is also questionable, although he’s expected to play. It won’t matter. The Browns offensive line has been terrible in pass protection both with and without Hubbard. That’s a bad sign for Sunday, as the Ravens have one of the top pass-rushing units in the NFL when it comes to hurrying opposing quarterbacks this season. The Browns also excel in that category, averaging less than 2.75 seconds per QB hurry according to NFL Next Gen Stats. That said, Ravens Ronnie Staley is one of the top pass-blocking left tackles in the game, while Orlando Brown is solid in that area as well. That negates perhaps the only reason to like the Browns, who boast Myles Garrett and Oliver Vernon. With no running game through three weeks, Baker Mayfield will be a sitting duck.

NFL Week 4 Prediction: Baltimore Ravens -7
