According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Mets are -135 money line favorites to beat the Cardinals, who are +122 on the money line. The total, meanwhile, sits at 6.5 runs.

New York opened as -135 money line favorites and that’s where its odds currently sit. On the other side, St. Louis went from +115 up to +122 and the total dropped from 7 down to 6.5 at the majority of online sportsbooks.

Bet Today’s Cardinals vs. Mets Game

As of this writing, 62% of betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Mets to win on the money line. Meanwhile, 59% of the betting tickets are on the under.

Martinez finished the 2017 season with a 25% strikeout rate and an 11% swinging strike rate and should pop up in Cy Young talks throughout the season. That said, he also struggled to find his command in spring training and the long ball was a problem for him at times last year. Meanwhile, Syndergaard is as nasty as they come but he struggled to stay healthy a year ago. The Cardinals do a nice job of limiting strikeouts and they now have a legitimate cleanup hitter in Marcell Ozuna, who was acquired from the Marlins this offseason. All of this is to say that I believe this game will be surprisingly high-scoring. Maybe not an 8-7 barnburner, but 5-3 gets the job done with the over.
