Chicago White Sox Fantasy Spin

Lucas Giolito (hamstring) said Sunday that he’s feeling good but isn’t sure when he’ll be cleared to throw a bullpen session. “I don’t feel much of anything, just a little lingering tightness,” Giolito said. The right-hander hopes to miss just one start, but whether that’s realistic remains to be seen.

Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin

Orioles’ manager Brandon Hyde said Sunday that he does not expect Dwight Smith Jr. (quad) to be in the starting lineup on Monday. Smith Jr. was removed from Sunday’s game due to right quad tightness. At the moment, it doesn’t sound like it’s something that’s going to force him to go on the injured list, but it looks like he could need a couple of days off. Keep an eye on his status on Monday before setting weekly lineups.

MLB Betting Trends

Chicago

The White Sox are now 9-20 in their last 29 games overall.

Baltimore

The Orioles have lost 18 of David Hess’ last 22 starts.

Prediction:

Manny Banuelos will start tonight for the White Sox and he has struggled with control at essentially every stop, both in the majors and at the minor-league level. He’s averaging roughly five walks per nine innings while also struggling to strike out major-league hitters. Meanwhile, Hess shut out the Blue Jays on April 1 but has struggled in every other start this year, allowing at least three runs in his other three outings. The over is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams in Baltimore and is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams overall.

The Pick: White Sox/Orioles OVER 9.5
