Indians vs. Royals Sunday Prediction

Cleveland Indians vs. Kansas City Royals, 4/14/2019 Predictions & Odds

The Indians will send ace Corey Kluber to the mound Sunday in hopes of salvaging one win in Kansas City this weekend. Even with Kluber pitching, is there value in the over when the Trible and Royals wrap up their series at 2:15 p.m. ET?

973 Cleveland Indians (-155) at 974 Kansas City Royals (+130); 7.5 runs

Public Betting Trends

According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 67% of the betting tickets are on the Indians to beat the Royals on the moneyline.

Cleveland Indians Fantasy Spin

Brad Miller went 2-for-3 in a loss to the Royals on Saturday. Brad Miller: 2-for-3. The rest of the Cleveland lineup: 0-for-25. One of the hits for Miller was a double, already the third of the season for the 29-year-old. Miller has shown flashes of brilliance at times, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen sustained success. It’s doubtful that 2019 is going to be that year, but if you feel like taking a flyer on your bench early on, there are worse ideas.

Kansas City Royals Fantasy Spin

Whit Merrifield went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Saturday for the Royals in their win over the Indians. Merrifield showed off his speed with an infield hit in the seventh that knocked in Hunter Dozier and extended the lead to 3-0 for the Royals. Merrifield is now hitting .339 with an .869 OPS over 14 games with Kansas City, and he’s driven in six runs and stolen five bases in that time frame.

MLB Betting Trends

Cleveland

The Indians have won six of Kluber’s last eight starts versus the Royals but are just 2-8 in his last 10 outings at Kauffman Stadium.

Kansas City

The Royals are 7-16 in Jacob Junis’ last 23 starts overall.

Prediction:

I wouldn’t fear the over despite Kluber pitching in a prominently pitcher’s park. First and foremost, the ball has been jumping all over Kauffman Stadium to start the year and the over is 5-1 in Kluber’s last six road starts versus the Royals. While he pitched well against the Tigers in his last start, Kluber lasted only six innings as he allowed seven hits. While I don’t expect the Royals to rough him up, they should scratch across a couple of runs today. Meanwhile, the Tribe did nothing against Homer Bailey yesterday and has struggled mightily without Francisco Lindor. That said, Cleveland is hitting .317 with five runs in 41 at bats against Junis, who owns a 5.75 ERA in three starts this season. This matchup has sneaky over potential.

The Pick: Indians/Royals OVER 7.5
