Clint Capela agrees to deal with Rockets, 8/1/18 Houston 10/1 to win Title

Clint Capela and the Rockets have reached an agreement on a five-year, $90 million deal. Following the move, here’s a look at how Houston’s futures odds stack up to the rest of the league.

Adrian Wojnarowski had the news on Capela via Twitter. It took almost a month for the Rockets to sign their up-and-coming big man following his breakout season. Capela still received a hefty raise and his representation wound up getting him $5 million more than Houston’s first offer, which was reportedly for five years and $85 million. Just 24 years old, Capela essentially posted career-high numbers across the board a year ago.

According to oddsmakers, the Rockets are now 10/1 to win the NBA championship next year. Only two teams have better odds to win it all, with they being the Warriors at 10/17 and the Celtics at 13/2. Even though they added LeBron, the Lakers are listed behind the Rockets in terms of title odds, as L.A. is currently 18/1 to win it all next season.

The Rockets may not be done either. According to RocketsWire.com, the team reportedly would consider trading a package of Ryan Anderson, Chinanu Onuaku and a 2019 first-round pick for Kent Bazemore. That said, the Pelicans have some interest in Bazemore as well but are reportedly unwilling to take on Solomon Hill’s contract.
