Colorado Rockies Fantasy Spin

X-rays on Nolan Arenado’s bruised toe came back negative. Arenado is still feeling the effects of an injury he suffered when he fouled a ball off his toe in a game against the Padres last weekend. “It’s very painful,” said the third baseman, acknowledging it’s “something I’ll have to deal with.” Arenado is always battling some nagging injury, but he usually plays through it. It sounds like he’s prepared to continue that trend.

Los Angeles Dodgers Fantasy Spin

Austin Barnes finished 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored as the Dodgers held off the Giants 9-8 on Thursday. Giants ace Madison Bumgarner elevated a 91 mph fastball in the fourth inning that Barnes yanked inside the left field foul pole for a two-run homer. The backstop also had a single and a double in the win. It was a much-needed offensive explosion for Barnes, who coming into the game had just two hits in 23 at-bats since being activated from the injured list in early June. Overall, the 29-year-old is hitting .222/.323/.382 in 49 games.
