OK, so Dustin Johnson was supposed to make his continental U.S. debut at last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am…but he was a late withdrawal. This is a new week, however, and Genesis Open odds are headlined by the OWGR No. 1 – who is expected to actually play this week – along with many of the world’s top golfers also set to tee off in what should be an exciting PGA Tour betting event.

Let’s take a closer look at the golf betting odds for the 2021 Genesis Open, teeing off at Riviera Country Club from February 18-21.

Who is the favorite to win the Genesis Open?

After withdrawing from last week’s event, Dustin Johnson is expected to actually play this weekend—and he is the tournament betting favorite at +550. Johnson has not played on a continental U.S.-based event in the new season, having only played in the Sentry Tournament of Champions (T11) since his Masters victory in November.

Second on the odds board is OWGR No. 2 Jon Rahm (+1,200). Rahm took last weekend off, last playing at the Waste Management Phoenix Open,  but has not had a Top-5 finish since the ZOZO Championship last season.

Rory McIlroy, who also was last seen finishing T13 at TPC Scottsdale, is third at +1,300, while Justin Thomas (+1,400) and Xander Schauffele (+1,600) round out the Top 5.

How to bet on PGA Tour odds

The most popular way to bet on golf is by simply picking the winner, which is also referred to as an outright. There are plenty of other ways to wager, however. Some of the more popular markets include head-to-head betting, where sportsbooks pair up two golfers and you simply choose who you think will have the lower score over the course of the weekend or for one round only. Similarly, there are also 3-way betting markets (choose the best golfer among three choices) and group betting (choose the best golfer amongst a group of players).

Other ways to wager include Top-5/Top-10/Top-20 finish, top golfer by nationality, to make the cut/to not make the cut, and the leader after each round. Then, of course, there’s the popular prop bet of whether or not there will be a hole in one at the tournament.
