The weather can change the outcome of
football games. Bad weather has a tendency
of keeping games close and improving the
underdogs ability of winning against the
spread and even winning outright, due to
additional turnovers occurring frequently
in bad weather conditions. The defense
becomes
further significant
and generally results in low scoring
games. On offense the passing game is
usually
restrained to short passes quite often
during extremely cold and stormy weather,
more concentration is placed on the ground
game, which aids the team with the better
running game. Incidentally the team with
the better kicking squad has a big
advantage over their opponent. These are
just a few variables in dealing with the
meteorological situation, rain, cold, hot,
windy,
humidity, altitude and so on.
Remember
to be aware of the weather in analyzing a
football contest.
