"THEY'RE GOING CRAZY"

Department Of Justice Makes Arrest For Cyber Gambling

This country that I love and consider the greatest of all has lost
sight of what is good and bad Gambling on the internet is bad? Yeah,
gambling on the internet is bad......But anarchical information freely
available to any lunatic who wants to build a bomb--this is O.K.
Recipes for kids to mix together and experiment with some new drug-
-that’s fine? Let’s not forget the political spearhead for online free
speech. Free raunchy pornography! There’s decency for you.
Is this a joke? Gambling on the internet is big business, and they
should get involved- not only for the purpose of regulating it so that
all of us can do honest business, but the potential for them to make
tremendous amounts of revenue!

Instead they make rules that make no sense. The transferring of money
is illegal if it is for offshore gambling. Can I take my money and
deposit elsewhere like a casino in Vegas? Is that O.K? Is it O.K.
if I transfer my state lotto winnings to a bank that does business in
another state? I don’t know. I’am not an attorney so the statute of
laws that exist, I will not concern myself with.

This is going to promote gambling in our society? Gambling exists all
over in one form or another! Do state lotteries promote gambling? How
about Church bingos? I don’t know.

"Oh, this will cause dirty money to be laundered." Ever consider that
if the government became a regulator of licensed gambling rather than
an enforcer of illegal gambling, less dirty money would exist? Perhaps,
I still don’t know.

What I do know is that gambling doesn't damage society. People find
ways to gamble. "Can I gamble here?" Yes! "Can I gamble there?" No.
Go 12 miles offshore and that's O.K, but 11/2 and that's illegal? When
did locality become such an important issue of legality?

"I live in Florida so I can't gamble." Sure you can ! Plan a trip to
the Bahamas- now that you're out of state, it's O,K! I live in New York
so I can't gamble." Sure you can! Drive a little bit to Connecticut or
New Jersey and find yourself an Indian reservation. It's O.K!
Screw it-lets all just pack up and move to Nevada.

The politicians better wake up and explain to me what's going on. If
I can't play legally on the internet......then I may as well just call
up my local neighborhood bookie.
