Eagles on a win streak.

Georgia Southern is riding a three-game win streak coming into Thursday’s contest following a 41-7 win over New Mexico State on Saturday. The Eagles are 4-3 on the year, 2-1 in the Sun Belt, 2-5 against the spread and 4-3 with the over.

Southern has been led by its defense this season, allowing just 28 points and 342.3 yards per game. Offensively, Georgia Southern is putting up only 25.1 points and 308.7 yards per contest. The Eagles have a strong rushing attack at 260 yards per game. J.D. King is leading the way with 457 yards and four scores. Four others have at least 260 rushing yards. Shai Werts has thrown for 179 yards and two scores while rushing for 303 yards.

App State stays perfect

The Appalachian State football team is having an unbeaten season right now following a 30-3 win at South Alabama last Saturday. The Mountaineers are 7-0 on the season, 4-0 in the Sun Belt, 5-2 against the spread and 4-3 with the under.

The Mountaineers have been solid on both sides of the ball, averaging 41 points and 439.6 yards per game, while the defense is giving up just 19 points and 326.6 yards per contest. Darrynton Evans is leading the offense with 722 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns while Zac Thomas has thrown for 1,295 yards and 11 scores while rushing for 266 yards and four more touchdowns. Thomas Hennigan is the team’s leading receiver with 33 catches for 374 yards and four scores.

College Football Betting Trends

Georgia Southern

The Eagles have hit the under in eight of their last 10 Thursday games and in four of their last five games on fieldturf.

Appalachian State

The Mountaineers have hit the under in five of their last six games in October and in five of their last six conference games.

Prediction:

These two have hit the under in four of their last five meetings. These midweek games haven’t let to a lot of great play. The Mountaineers had a 17-7 win at Louisiana in Week 7 on a Wednesday night. Both of these teams will have played twice in six days, which is likely to lead to poor execution on offense. Georgia State doesn’t have much of an offense to challenge Appalachian State, but I do think the Eagles will be able to be competitive on defense. The Mountaineers may win with some ease, but I could see a 35-10, 27-14-type of game.

College Football Week 10 Prediction: Georgia Southern/Appalachian State Under 48
