The Lakers are laying 8-points on Thursday night to the Hornets at 10:30 p.m. ET, while the total for tonight’s game currently sits at 226 points. What’s the best bet when it comes to this NBA matchup?

Game Snapshot

Venue: STAPLES Center, Los Angeles, CA

Charlotte Hornets DFS Notes

Gordon Hayward bounced back on Monday with 25 points in a win vs. the Kings, making 9-of-16 field goals and 5-of-5 free throws in 36 minutes. Hayward was coming off a nine-point effort, so it was nice to see him fill up the scoring column. In fact, this was his highest-scoring game since Feb. 7. It was an all-around effort tonight, too, with eight rebounds, four assists, two 3-pointers and four steals. That gives him an average of 2.4 steals over his past eight games, yet another reason he’s flirting with top-25 roto value in recent weeks.

Los Angeles Lakers DFS Notes

LeBron James played 31 minutes in Tuesday’s win over the Timberwolves, scoring 25 points (8-of-14 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs) with 12 rebounds, 12 assists, one block and four 3-pointers. James posted his fifth triple-double of the season, and 99th of his storied career. He is now one triple-double away from joining select company. Only four players in the history of the NBA have at least 100 career triple-doubles: Oscar Robertson, Russell Westbrook, Magic Johnson and Jason Kidd. James has taken on an increased workload with Anthony Davis (Achilles) sidelined, but recent blowouts have bought the King a few more minutes of rest. Like a fine wine, LeBron just seems to get better with age.

Hornets vs. Lakers Game Prediction

The Lakers are warming up at the betting window, covering their last four games and posting a 6-0 ATS record in their last games when their opponent allowed 100 points or more in its previous contest. They’re also 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games versus the Hornets, who are just 2-5 against the number in their last seven games as a road underdog and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games when facing an opponent with a winning home record.
