Houston Astros Fantasy Spin

Carlos Correa (neck) went 0-for-3 in his season debut Sunday versus the Rays. Correa missed the Astros’ first three regular-season games due to a lingering neck injury that he suffered in the second-to-last week of spring training. Durability has become an issue in recent years for the talented young shortstop, but he is capable of big numbers if he can stay healthy from here on out.

Texas Rangers Fantasy Spin

Delino DeShields hit a grand slam Sunday in the Rangers’ defeat of the Cubs. His four-run shot in the bottom of the fourth inning came off veteran left-hander Cole Hamels. DeShields also drew a walk in the game, finishing the day 1-for-4 with a run scored and four RBI. The 26-year-old speedster managed only two total homers and 22 total RBI over 393 plate appearances last season.

MLB Betting Trends

Houston

The Astros are 48-23 in their last 71 road games when facing a left-handed starter.

Texas

The Rangers have won five of their last seven home games versus an opponent with a road winning percentage of less than .400.

Prediction:

The Astros didn’t fare well in Tampa but they historically haven’t hit well at Tropicana Field. Their bats should come alive in Arlington, which produced plenty of runs over the weekend in the Cubs-Rangers series. The Astros are also 17-4 in their last 21 road games against the Rangers and have won eight of the previous 11 meetings with Texas. Finally, the Astros are 13-5 in Brad Peacock’s last 18 road starts and are 4-1 in his last five road outings, while the Rangers are just 3-12 in their last 15 games versus a right-handed starter.

The Pick: Houston Astros -1.5 (-105)
