According to oddsmakers, the Warriors are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -5.5 points against the Rockets. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 220.5 points. The public betting for the contest has 69 percent going on the Rockets on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Rockets edged in Game 1

The Houston Rockets suffered a 104-100 loss in Game 1 on Sunday, but they are relying heavily on “non-calls” as the reason they lost. Houston did still manage to cover in the loss. The Rockets are 57-31 on the season, 23-21 on the road, 44-41-3 against the spread and 46-40-2 with the under.

Despite the complaints about the refs, Houston still had 29 free throw attempts, while Golden State had 27. The Rockets were 31 of 74 from the field and 14 of 47 from the arc. James Harden finished with 35 points and six assists, but was just 9 of 28 shooting from the floor and 4 of 16 from 3-point land. Eric Gordon added 27 points on 10 of 19 shooting.

Warriors find a way

Golden State took the series opener on Sunday thanks to some big plays down the stretch. The Warriors did fail to cover in the victory. Golden State is now 62-27 on the season, 32-13 at home, 38-50-1 against the spread and 47-42 with the under.

The Warriors didn’t shoot terribly well from the arc, going just 7 of 22 as a team. However, they were still 38 of 75 from the field. They did commit 20 turnovers though. Kevin Durant continued to shine, posting 25 points with five rebounds while Stephen Curry added 18 points with seven rebounds and four assists. Curry was only 3 of 10 from the arc, but hit a key 3-pointer in the closing seconds of regulation. Draymond Green added 14 points with nine rebounds and nine assists.

NBA Betting Trends

Houston

The Rockets have covered the spread in five straight against Pacific Division opponents and they are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 conference games.

Golden State

The Warriors are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games following a win and 10-23-1 ATS in their last 34 home games.

Prediction:

The Warriors have struggled with Houston this season and haven’t been great coming off a win, but I think Golden State is actually the team that should have a chip on its shoulder tonight. Houston made it sound like they only lost because of the refs in Game 1, which seems to have rubbed the two-time defending champions the wrong way. Houston hasn’t shot the ball well against Golden State in the postseason and the Warriors are the better scoring team. I expect them to come out on fire and lead Golden State to a lopsided win.

NBA Prediction: Golden State Warriors -5.5
