Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, the Rockets are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -5 points against the Grizzlies. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 238 points. The public betting currently has 81 percent going on the Rockets as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Rockets dominate Minnesota

Houston is coming off a 139-109 win at home over Minnesota for a fourth win in five games. The Rockets are 26-12 on the season, 12-8 on the road, 19-19 against the spread and 21-17 with the under.

The Rockets have the league’s top offense. Houston is averaging 119.2 points per game on offense while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. Defensively, the Rockets are giving up 113.7 points per game while opponents shoot 45.5 percent from the floor. Houston will be resting Russell Westbrook tonight. He is averaging 24.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. James Harden is leading Houston with 37.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists per contest.

Grizzlies continue win streak

Memphis is coming off a 122-102 win over Golden State on Sunday. The Grizzlies have won five straight games, all by at least seven points. Memphis is now 18-22 on the season, 10-12 at home, 21-18-1 against the spread and 22-18 with the over.

The Grizzlies are putting up 113.4 points per game this season while shooting 47 percent as a team. Defensively, Memphis is allowing 116.1 points per contest while opponents shoot 46.3 percent from the field. Jae Crowder and Brandon Clarke are both questionable to play in tonight’s game due to injury. They combined for 22.6 points and 11.9 rebounds per contest. Jaren Jackson Jr. is leading the team with 18.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Ja Morant is adding 17.8 points and 6.9 assists per game.

NBA Betting Trends

Houston

The Rockets are 5-11 against the spread in their last 16 games as a road favorite and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games.

Memphis

The Grizzlies have covered the spread in four straight home games and they are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games as an underdog.

Prediction:

Houston picked up a 107-100 win at Memphis back in early November. The Rockets haven’t been terribly consistent on the road and now they head to Memphis without a key piece of the lineup. The Grizzlies are really on a roll right now, with their offense starting to really click. They have scored at least 119 in all five wins and at least 117 in seven straight games. They have the ability to match points with Houston and I suspect the Grizzlies will play a little better defense at home.

NBA Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies +5
