Jaguars vs. Broncos Week 4 Prediction

Jaguars vs. Broncos, 9/29/19 NFL Week 4 Predictions & Betting Odds

Gardner Minshew and the Jaguars will look to win back-to-back games when they visit the Broncos at 4:25 p.m. ET. With the majority of betting tickets on Jacksonville, is this a trap game or will the Jags cover as a 3-point dog?

Game Snapshot

273 Jacksonville Jaguars (+3) at 274 Denver Broncos (-3); O/U 37.5

4:25 p.m. ET, Sunday, September 29, 2019

Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, CO

Public Betting Trends

According to our NFL Football Public Betting Chart page, the Jaguars are receiving 55% of the betting tickets from online sportsbooks.

Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Spin

Jalen Ramsey (back) is flying to Denver for Week 4’s game against the Broncos but is still listed as questionable. Ramsey made it onto the Jaguars’ plane in time and will likely test out his back tomorrow before a decision is made on if he will play. Emmanuel Sanders and Courtland Sutton would obviously prefer if one of the league’s best shut down corners wasn’t available this week. Ramsey’s status needs to be monitored tomorrow morning.

Denver Broncos Fantasy Spin

Joe Flacco completed 20-of-29 passes for 213 yards and one interception in the Broncos’ Week 3 loss to the Packers. Flacco found his inner Marcus Mariota in this one, showing zero urgency and zero desire to throw the ball downfield. In fact, the Broncos were opting to run the ball in obvious pass situations while they were trailing in the second half. Denver will continue to have one of the most vanilla offenses in the NFL with Flacco at the helm, and it won’t get prettier with the Jaguars coming to town next week.

NFL Betting Trends

Jacksonville

The Jaguars are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games versus the Broncos and have fared well in Denver too, covering in five of their last seven road games in this series.

Denver

The home team is just 1-5 at the betting window in the last six meetings between these two teams while the favorite is 2-6 against the spread in the last eight meetings.

Prediction

This is probably a trap game but I don’t care: I like the Jags, who are the better team and are getting points. Jacksonville enters Week 4 tied for first in the league with 13 sacks while Denver ranks 26th in the NFL in adjusted sack rate according to Football Outsiders. Left tackle Garrett Bolles has really struggled in pass pro and even when he does have time to throw, Flacco often refuses to test defenses vertically. Minshew is probably a little overhyped at this point but I see too much value in the underdog Jags.

NFL Week 4 Prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars +3
