Kansas City has lost six of its last seven games after being swept at home by the Toronto Blue Jays. The Royals are 40-70 overall, 17-35 on the road and 55-49 with the over. KC has Glenn Sparkman getting the start tonight. He is 3-7 on the season with a 5.25 ERA.

The Royals are putting up 4.28 runs per game this season while batting .248. They do lead the league in stolen bases with 91. On the mound, KC has a 4.96 team ERA with a 1.46 team WHIP. Jorge Soler has had a strong season for KC. He has 22 doubles with 28 home runs and 73 RBI. Whit Merrifield is adding 29 doubles, 12 home runs, 55 RBI and 15 stolen bases.

Twins staying on top

Minnesota is coming off a 5-2 road trip against the White Sox and the Marlins. They are holding on to a three-game lead in the AL Central. The Twins are 66-42 on the season, 31-21 at home and 54-48 with the over. Minnesota has Martin Perez getting the start tonight. He is 8-4 on the year with a 4.38 ERA.

The Twins have been solid all around this season. Their pitching staff has a 4.03 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP. At the plate, Minnesota is averaging 5.71 runs per game while batting .269 as a squad. They lead the league in home runs as well with 210. Max Kepler is leading the way with 25 doubles, 30 home runs and 74 RBI. Eddie Rosario is adding 16 doubles, 23 home runs and 71 RBI.

MLB Betting Trends

Kansas City

The Royals are 4-10 in their last 14 Friday games and 1-4 in Sparkman’s last five starts.

Minnesota

The Twins are 10-2 in their last 12 Friday games and 35-16 in their last 51 games following a loss.

Prediction:

Sparkman hasn’t been very good as of late, allowing 13 runs over his last 10.2 innings. While he has a 3.75 ERA against the Twins this year, I wouldn’t expect great things from his start today. Perez hasn’t been great either, but his damages are more manageable. He’s been pretty steady at giving up 2-4 earned runs over about 5-6 innings. He has struggled with he Royals this year in two starts, but I think he will get a lot of run support tonight and be able to do enough to help his team win.

MLB Prediction: Minnesota Twins -235
