Kentucky vs. Missouri, 10/24/20 College Football Week 8 Predictions

The last time we saw Missouri the Tigers were upsetting the national champs but they also haven’t played in two weeks after back-to-back COVID-19 related postponements. Will Mizzou pick up a win and a cover on Saturday when it returns to action versus Kentucky at 4:00 p.m. ET?

Game Snapshot

403 Kentucky Wildcats (-5.5) at 404 Missouri Tigers (+5.5); o/u 47

Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field, Columbia, MO

4:00 p.m. ET, Saturday, October 24, 2020

Kentucky Wildcats Game Notes

Kentucky senior QB Terry Wilson completed 12-of-15 passes for 101 yards with a touchdown in a 34-7 win over Tennessee on Saturday. Wilson didn’t have to do much, as Kentucky’s defense was dominant again on Saturday with two interceptions returned for touchdowns and holding the Volunteers to just the seven points. He was much better in terms of completion percentage — 80 percent on Saturday, 40 percent last week against Mississippi State — but it was mostly check downs to keep the chains moving. Not terribly impressive, but certainly good enough. Kentucky has won two straight, and they’ll have a chance for a third consecutive win next Saturday against Missouri.

Missouri Tigers Game Notes

Missouri redshirt senior WR Damon Hazelton is back on the depth chart ahead of Saturday’s game vs. Florida after missing time due to COVID-19 contract tracing. Hazelton (6’3/215) did not play in the Tigers’ 45-41 home win over LSU on October 10 due to contact tracing protocols, the second health issue that the grad transfer from Virginia Tech has had to deal with this season. He was limited during preseason camp by a hamstring injury, but ultimately played in Missouri’s first two games. Hazelton is listed third on the depth chart behind co-starters D’ionte “Boo” Smith and Micah Wilson at one of the outside wide receiver spots, so he may not get too many reps against Florida should the game be played as scheduled.

Missouri vs. Tennessee Betting Prediction

The under is 8-1 in the Wildcats’ last nine games played in the month of October, is 5-1 in their last six road games and is 16-5 in their last 21 conference tilts. The under is also 7-2 in the Tigers’ last nine conference games, is 16-5 in their last 21 games overall and cashed in nine of their last 12 home games as well.
