The Kings and Pelicans have routinely cashed the over when they meet, but at 232 points, is the total too high for these two teams on Monday night? Tip-off is set for 9:00 p.m. ET from Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

Buddy Hield scored 18 points vs. the Wolves on Monday, shooting 6-of-16 from downtown with seven boards, three assists, two steals and one block in 32 minutes. Hield doesn’t even pretend to be interested in two-point baskets, with 72.5% of his shot attempts from deep this season. The downside is that it damages his field goal percentage (39.7%) and keeps him off the free throw line, where he’s making 85.1%. The upside, of course, is that he’s a fantastic specialist with 4.0 triples per game, and can single-handedly win that category in a good week. Expect more of the same over Sacramento’s final 21 games.

Zion Williamson hit 16-of-22 shots for 38 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two swats and four turnovers across 36 minutes in Sunday’s win over Cleveland. Like we’ve seen with most teams this season, Cleveland had zero answers for Zion, as he regularly got exactly what he wanted directly at the rim and he had 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting at the half; which accounted for a new first-half, career-high. He had gone just 15-of-25 from the line over his past two games, but tonight, he was a 6-of-8 at the charity stripe. Brandon Ingram was a perfect 8-of-8 at the line and 8-of-18 from the floor on his way to 27 points, four boards, eight dimes, three triples, one steal and five turnovers in 36 minutes.

Kings vs. Pelicans Betting Prediction

The over is 7-2 in the last nine meetings between these two teams and is 4-1 in the last five meetings in New Orleans. The over is also 20-7 in the Kings’ last 27 games versus a team with a losing record and is 18-4 in the Pelicans’ last 22 games as a favorite. The over has also cashed in 21 of New Orleans’ last 27 home games.
