Favorites to win MLS Cup

Los Angeles FC is the early betting favorite to win the MLS Cup, topping the odds table at +500. One of the league’s best franchises since it began play in 2018, Bob Bradley’s side earned the Supporters’ Shield in 2019, awarded to the best regular season team. Though LAFC has yet to make an MLS Cup final, the club is expected to be one of the best teams this season and is led by one of the game’s top scorers, Diego Rossi.

Just behind LAFC is the reigning champion Crew at +550, followed by the Sounders, who reached the finals for the fourth time in five years. Columbus topped off a triumphant few years, in which it staved off an attempted relocation to Austin, with a 3-0 win over Seattle in the final last season. The 2020 MLS Cup was the Crew’s second in franchise history, after first winning in 2008.

What is the format for the MLS Cup Playoffs?

The Top-6 teams in the Western and Eastern conferences enter into the first round of the MLS Cup Playoffs. On either side of the bracket, it will be single-elimination, progressing from the first round through to the Conference Finals. The winners of the Eastern and Western Conference will then meet in the MLS Cup, hosted by the team with the better regular season record.

When is the MLS Cup Playoffs?

The regular season will get underway a month later than usual, in April. As a result, the MLS Cup Playoffs are currently scheduled to begin on November 19. The season will culminate with the MLS Cup, scheduled for December 11.

How to bet on soccer futures odds

MLS futures odds are constantly adjusted throughout the offseason due to player transfers and injuries. Once the season begins, title odds will change as teams win and lose games and as more players get hurt or suspended. Sportsbooks will also adjust MLS odds based on handle and liability to certain teams.

MLS futures odds will usually look like this:

This means that on a $100 bet, you’ll stand to win $500 if Seattle wins the MLS Cup. If it’s close to the end of the competition, or a club has been particularly dominant, you might see them with a minus sign (-) ahead of their odds.

This means that you would need to bet $115 to win just $100 on an LAFC MLS Cup win.
