Dodgers win after blowing save

Los Angeles secured a 6-4 victory in 10 innings Wednesday night after losing a one-run lead in the ninth on a Kenley Jansen blown save. The Dodgers took the lead in the 10th as Enrique Hernandez scored on a throwing error in the infield on a grounder hit by Russell Martin. Hernandez helped lead the offense as he went 1-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base, two runs scored and an RBI. Chris Taylor was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run. Corey Seager finished the contest 1-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Jansen picked up the win in relief despite the blown save as he gave up one earned run on one hit with one strikeout and one walk over one inning. Casey Sadler notched the save as he allowed one hit with two strikeouts in a scoreless frame. Hyun-Jin Ryu draws the start tonight for LA as he enters with a 12-4 record, 2.00 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 133 strikeouts over 152 2/3 innings pitched.

D-backs win third straight

Arizona picked up a 3-2 win at San Francisco Tuesday night to improve to 67-66 overall and 37-34 on the road. Mike Leake picked up his first win with the D-backs as he gave up two earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts and one walk over 7 1/3 innings. Archie Bradley recorded the save as he struck out one in a perfect inning of work. Ketel Marte helped lead the Diamondbacks offense as he finished 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Christian Walker was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Adam Jones ended the game 2-for-3 with an RBI. Merrill Kelly gets the start tonight as he comes in with a 9-13 record, 4.86 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 119 strikeouts over 146 1/3 innings of work.

MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Dodgers are 6-1 in their last seven road games versus a right-handed starter. Los Angeles is 14-4 in the last 18 Ryu starts.

The Diamondbacks are 2-8 in the last 10 Ryu starts. Arizona is 5-1 in its last six games versus the NL West.

Both teams are coming off series’ where they played in pitcher’s parks and now enter into more hitter-friendly confines at Chase Field. Ryu has looked tired in his last two starts and the Dodgers have talked about limiting his innings next start. Kelly is a mediocre starting pitcher and I think LA will get to him early and often. I’m going to bank on Ryu having another subpar outing as well, so my lean on this game is actually on the over.
