According to the latest oddsmakers, the Rockets are the slight favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -2 points against the Lakers. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 232 points. The public betting currently has 71 percent going on Los Angeles as the road underdog. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Lakers end long win streak

Los Angeles had a long win streak come to an end on Wednesday in a 119-118 loss at home to the Orlando Magic. The loss also ended a four-game cover streak. The Lakers are 33-8 on the season, 17-3 on the road, 22-18-1 against the spread and 22-19 with the under.

The Lakers are putting up 114 points per game on offense while shooting a league-best 48.6 percent from the field. Defensively, Los Angeles is giving up 105.4 points per game while opponents shoot 43.8 percent from the field. Anthony Davis and Rajon Rondo are both questionable with injuries tonight. Davis is averaging 27.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. LeBron James is putting up 25.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and 10.9 assists per contest.

Rockets drop another at home

Houston is coming off a 117-107 loss at home to Portland for a third loss in four games. The Rockets are also 1-4 against the spread in their last five. Houston is now 26-14 on the season, 14-5 at home, 19-21 against the spread and 23-17 with the under.

The Rockets are putting up 118.7 points per game on offense this year, which ranks second in the NBA. Houston is shooting 45.3 percent as a team. Defensively, the Rockets are giving up 114 points per game while opponents shoot 45.5 percent against them. James Harden is averaging 37.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game to lead Houston this season. Russell Westbrook is adding 24.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.2 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Lakers are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine games as an underdog and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games against a team with a winning home record.

Houston

The Rockets are 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.

Prediction:

These two haven’t met this season so tonight’s game should be pretty interesting. The Lakers have been rolling, even without Davis in the lineup. They are coming off a loss at home, which should provide a little more fuel for tonight’s game against Houston. The Rockets are struggling as of late, including a loss to Portland at home. The Blazers are a potent offense and the Lakers are the same. LeBron can facilitate a lot of offense and I think he will be ready to put on a show against a good team on the road. I like the Lakers outright, so I will take the points as well.

NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers +2
