Los Angeles Rams vs. Atlanta Falcons, 10/18/19 Predictions & Odds

The Rams have dropped three straight following a 3-0 start while the 1-5 Falcons are one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL. With the total sitting at 54.5 for these teams’ matchup on Sunday, is the number set too high?

Los Angeles Rams Fantasy Spin

Coach Sean McVay said, “I think he’s (Todd Gurley) on a good pace to hopefully be able to play on Sunday.” Gurley is expected to be limited in practice again Thursday. He appears to be trending towards suiting up this week, but clearly isn’t operating at 100%. Malcolm Brown (68% snaps) worked well ahead of Darrell Henderson (32%) during Gurley’s absence last week. Gurley would undoubtedly retake control of the backfield if active, but it’s probably more realistic to expect a snap rate in the 60-70% range as opposed to the 93% rate he posted in Week 5.

Atlanta Falcons Fantasy Spin

Matt Ryan completed 30-of-36 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns in the Falcons’ Week 6 loss to the Cardinals. The Falcons were trailing for most of the game, but Ryan was orchestrating a nice comeback performance, hitting Austin Hooper, Calvin Ridley and Devonta Freeman (x2) for touchdowns. With a few minutes remaining, Ryan marched downfield for a score to set up the tie with the extra point, but Matt Bryant shanked it left. It’s been a rough weekend for kickers in the state of Georgia. With the miss, the Falcons fell to 1-5, which puts a ton of pressure on Dan Quinn and the rest of the coaching staff. For fantasy purposes, Ryan is as reliable as it gets. He has 300+ yards in every game and is averaging 2.5 passing touchdowns. Ryan will be a QB1 at home next week against the Rams.

NFL Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The over is 5-1 in the Rams’ last six games after accumulating less than 250 total yards in their previous game.

Atlanta

The over is 4-1 in the Falcons’ last five games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous contest.

Prediction

The over is a perfect 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams in Atlanta and is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings overall. The Falcons own one of the worst defenses in the league and even though the Rams have struggled offensively the past three weeks, Atlanta allows Sean McVay and Co. an opportunity to get right. Dan Quinn shouldn’t have his job right now but thankfully he does, because over bettors can continue to cash thanks to his miserable defense.

NFL Week 7 Prediction: Rams/Falcons OVER 54.5
