According to oddsmakers, the Mets are favored at home today, as they are getting odds of -200 to win. The Marlins are listed with a money line of +170 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 8.5 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 65 percent going on the Mets at home. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Marlins shutout

Miami has lost the first three games in this series and five straight overall after a 5-0 loss to the Mets last night. Miami is now 42-70 on the season, 20-35 on the road and 55-51 with the under. Jordan Yamamoto gets the start for the Marlins this afternoon. He is 4-2 on the season with a 3.94 ERA.

Yamamoto was originally scheduled to pitch last night but instead Hector Noesi took the mound and gave up five runs over five innings to take the loss. The Marlins had nine hits despite being shutout, as they stranded eight baserunners. Jon Berti led the way with a pair of doubles for the Marlins.

Mets keep rolling

The Mets have won 12 of their last 13 games after winning their fifth straight on Tuesday night in a 5-0 victory. New York is 58-56 on the year, 31-20 at home and 57-46 with the over. The Mets have Steven Matz taking the mound today. He is 6-7 on the season with a 4.60 ERA.

Zack Wheeler pitched a gem on Tuesday night, throwing eight scoreless innings with five strikeouts to improve to 9-6 on the season. At the plate, the Mets had just eight hits, but turned them into five runs. Pete Alonso continued his great season by hitting his 36th home run of the year. Wilson Ramos added a three-run home run while J.D. Davis had a pair of hits and scored twice.

MLB Betting Trends

Miami

The Marlins are 25-61 in their last 86 road games and 19-47 in their last 66 against NL East opponents.

New York

The Mets have won seven straight home games and five straight division games.

Prediction:

Yamamoto has been struggling on the mound as of late, allowing 15 runs over his last 14 innings. Miami’s pitching is usually its strength, so if that fails them, the Marlins have little chance to stop this New York momentum. Matz has been a little hit-and-miss as of late, but he has a 3.00 ERA against the Marlins this year. I think the Mets are just playing far too well right now for them to slip up against Miami.

MLB Prediction: New York Mets -200
