Milwaukee Brewers Fantasy Spin

Lorenzo Cain (oblique) reached base in four of his five plate appearances in his return to the lineup Tuesday. He easily could have reached in all five trips to the dish, as Harrison Bader made a nice diving catch to rob Cain of a hit in the first inning. The veteran outfielder was making his first start since last Friday, as he’s been battling myriad injuries, most notably an oblique tweak. Cain is certainly capable of big things down the stretch if he’s healthy, but it’s hard to be confident that that will be the case.

St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin

Harrison Bader reached base in all four plate appearances Tuesday in his first game since returning from a stint in the minors. Bader was the spark plug in this one that the Cardinals had hoped he’d be all season. He narrowly missed a home run in his first plate appearance, settling for a triple instead. Bader showed uncharacteristic plate discipline in walking in each of his other three trips to the dish, marking the first three-walk game of his career. He also made a couple nice diving catches in center field. The Cards figure to give Bader a long look in center again and he does have some power/speed upside, but we need to see more before he can be trusted

MLB Betting Trends

Milwaukee

The Brewers are now just 1-4 in their last five games overall.

St. Louis

The Cardinals have won six straight at home and nine of their last 11 overall.

Prediction:

The Brewers are now winless in their last six games against the Cardinals and are 0-5 in their last five games played at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are 12-4 in Wainwright’s last 16 starts versus the Brewers, are 7-1 in his last eight outings overall and are 47-20 in his last 67 starts at home. The Cards have been incredibly profitable against the rest of the NL Central too, winning 17 of their last 21 games versus divisional foes.

The Pick: St. Louis Cardinals -111
