Minnesota Twins vs. New York Mets, 4/9/2019 Predictions & Odds

The Twins draw a tough matchup on Tuesday night in New York where they’ll face Jacob deGrom and the Mets at 7:10 p.m. ET. With their ace on the hill and an underrated offense now in place to support him, will the Mets pick up a runline victory for bettors?

Game Snapshot & Odds

923 Minnesota Twins (+210) at 924 New York Mets (-250); 6.5 runs

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Mets are -250 moneyline favorites. As of this writing, 78% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Mets to beat the Twins on the moneyline.

This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on this game.

Minnesota Twins Fantasy Spin

Max Kepler went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday’s loss to the Phillies. Kepler took a Zach Eflin offering for a solo ride leading off the first inning. The dinger was his third of the young campaign. All three of those have come in consecutive days. Kepler has now picked up hits in all but two of the eight games in which he has played.

New York Mets Fantasy Spin

Michael Conforto went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer in the Mets’ loss to the Nationals on Sunday. Conforto belted a three-run moonshot — his second long-ball of the season — off Nationals’ reliever Joe Ross in the ninth inning. He also doubled and scored a run in the second inning to notch his sixth multi-hit effort in nine games. He’s hitting .351/.415/.595 with nine runs scored and four RBI on the young campaign and appears to be on the verge of putting together the best season of his career.

MLB Betting Trends

Minnesota

The Twins have won four of Gibson’s last four starts but are just 5-11 in his last 16 interleague outings.

New York

The Mets have won all four of deGrom’s last four starts but are 6-15 in his last 21 home outings.

Prediction:

The Twins have lost seven straight games against the Mets and four straight road games versus New York. Gibson pitched well for the Twins last season but has struggled with lefties (39% hard contact rate) and the Mets boast a trio of lefties in Brandon Nimmo, Robinson Cano and Michael Conforto that can do some damage. With deGrom toeing the rubber for the Mets, I like New York on the runline this evening.

The Pick: New York Mets -1.5 (-105)
