Mullarkey vs Worthy betting preview

Mullarkey will be looking for his first win under the UFC banner after dropping his first two fights in the octagon to Brad Riddell and Fares Ziam. The 26-year-old had gone 12-2 before his UFC debut with one of the defeats coming against current UFC featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski in the Australian Fighting Championship.

Mullarkey does a good job of mixing up his striking and wrestling but is at his best when he can utilize his takedowns and top control.

Khama “The Death Star” Worthy is fresh off a first-round knockout loss to Ottman Azaitar in September. Prior to that defeat, the 34-year-old had reeled off six straight wins, including his first two bouts in the UFC.

The Death Star is an explosive striker with good hands, but he also has underrated grappling ability. Eleven of his last 12 victories have come by stoppage, including a first-round knockout win against Devonte Smith in his UFC debut.

Mullarkey vs Worthy UFC prediction and betting pick

PREDICTION: Khama Worthy -138 – Worthy opened as a -190 favorite for this fight but money has been coming in on Mullarkey, moving this line much closer. Truth be told, I don’t see why. Mullarkey has good wrestling but he’s not a fluid kickboxer and has awful strike defense. He didn’t look great on his feet in either of his two UFC fights and I’m honestly not sure if he can strike at this level.

Worthy might be coming off a TKO loss but Azaitar has some of the heaviest hands in the division. On the whole, Worthy is clearly a superior striker with stopping power and he can win this fight wherever it goes, as he proved with a submission victory over Luis Pena last June.
