Public Betting Trends

This year’s game is being adjusted slightly. Each of the first three quarters will be playing for $100,000 in charity. The final quarter will played under the Elam Ending. The final score will be a target score, 24 points ahead of the leading team after three quarters. Whichever team gets to the target score first will be the winner. According to the latest oddsmakers, Team LeBron is the favorite, as it is listed with odds of -6 points. The over/under total is currently listed at 304 points. The public betting currently has 69 percent going on Team LeBron as the favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Team LeBron

Team LeBron is obviously captained by LeBron James. Joining him in the starting lineup is Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Luke Doncic and James Harden. The bench includes Ben Simmons, Nikola Jokic, Jayson Tatum, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, Domantas Sabonis and Devin Booker.

Team Giannis

This squad will be captained by Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks. Joining him in the starting lineup will be Joel Embiid, Pascal Siakam, Kemba Walker and Trae Young. The bench includes Khris Middleton, Bam Adebayo, Rudy Gobert, Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Brandon Ingram and Donovan Mitchell.

NBA Betting Trends

Last year saw Team LeBron beat Team Giannis by a score of 178-164. Three of the last four All-Star Games have been decided by double digits and five of the last six have eclipsed 300 points.

Prediction:

The new format is going to make it tough for a lopsided win. Each quarter has its own competition, so the losing team will be pressing to rally and keep things close. With the final score being preset entering the fourth, it will also likely keep things close. I expect this to be a solid game. Team LeBron definitely is the better team on paper and my pick to win, but I think things are going to come down to the final few possessions. I will take my chances on the underdog with the points.

NBA All-Star Game Prediction: Team Giannis +6
