Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

The Nets are getting Kevin Durant back from his COVID-related absence, and it’s definitely good timing for Brooklyn. The team had lost three games in a row before earning a win over the Indiana Pacers the other night, and the Nets’ new superstar trio desperately needs some on-court time to work out some kinks moving forward. However, with that, it’s fair to wonder if there will be yet another adjustment period when Durant gets back on the floor. Brooklyn had settled into a pattern of using Kyrie Irving as the team’s primary scorer, with James Harden serving as the team’s point guard. How will the balance of power look with Durant back in the mix?

The Warriors have also been a lot better as of late, which isn’t great timing for the Nets. Golden State has won three of its last five games, with Stephen Curry going absolutely crazy as of late. Curry’s numbers this season resemble the ones from his unanimous MVP year, and now he gets a matchup with Brooklyn’s lousy defense.

Also, Kelly Oubre Jr., who started the year on an all-time cold streak from behind the three-point line, is really starting to find his groove in the Bay. Oubre is averaging 19.8 points per game in February, and he is shooting 48.7 percent from three in that span. The Warriors had high hopes for him when they acquired him during the offseason, and that trade is now starting to pay dividends. He should play a big role in this game, as the Nets defense allows a lot of open looks from deep. Oubre figures to benefit from that.

PREDICTION: Warriors +4.0 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

Until the Nets earned a 104-94 victory over the Pacers, Brooklyn had allowed 127.9 points per game in its previous seven games. Steve Nash’s team now gets Durant back as an infusion of offense, and his defense has to come up with a way to stop Curry, who is hotter than anybody on the planet right now.

Golden State’s offense isn’t as explosive as it used to be, but the team is ninth in the NBA in offensive rating over the last five games. Curry and Co. should be able to put up a lot of points against this Nets defense, and that means the Over is a good value because Brooklyn can score against anyone.

PREDICTION: Over 243.5 (-110)

Player Prop Pick

In the month of February, Curry is averaging 37.8 points per game on 56.8 percent shooting from the floor and 50.6 percent shooting from three. Now, Curry faces a Nets team that is just 25th in the NBA in defensive rating. Brooklyn has been involved in a number of extremely high-scoring affairs in recent weeks, and that means this is a good opportunity for Curry to get it going once again.

Curry has clearly realized that shooting at least 10 threes per game is the best way forward for an undermanned Warriors team, and it’s about time. Golden State’s supporting cast isn’t all that great this season, so Steve Kerr needs Curry to launch away.

PREDICTION: Steph Curry Over 32.5 Points (-110)

Nets vs Warriors Betting Card

  • Warriors +4.0 (-110)
  • Over 243.5 (-110)
  • Steph Curry Over 32.5 Points (-110)
