Nevada rallies for upset

The Nevada football team managed a nice upset win last weekend when it rallied to defeat Purdue, 34-31, at home. The Wolf Pack were 11-point underdogs going into the game and went over the 58.5-point total.

Nevada gave up 519 yards to Purdue and had just 404 yards of their own, but still managed the victory. However, the Wolf Pack created five turnovers. Daniel Brown led the way with two interceptions, five tackles and one tackle for loss. Offensively, Carson Strong threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns to lead Nevada. Toa Taua rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown while catching eight passes for 64 yards.

Ducks edged by Auburn

The Oregon Ducks suffered a rough loss last week when it fell 27-21 against Auburn after leading for most of the game. The Ducks failed to cover as a 4-point underdog while going under the 55-point total.

The Ducks held a 14-3 lead on Auburn and pushed that to 21-6 in the second half before Auburn rallied for the win. The Tigers scored the game-winning touchdown in the final 10 seconds. Oregon had just 332 yards of offense in the loss while Auburn had 383 total yards and 206 rushing yards. Justin Herbert threw for 242 yards and a touchdown on 28 of 37 passing while Johnny Johnson III caught seven passes for 98 yards and CJ Verdell rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

College Football Betting Trends

Nevada

The Wolf Pack have hit the under in 10 of their last 14 games in September and 17-7 with the under in their last 24 road games.

Oregon

Oregon has hit the under in four straight non-conference games, but 22-8-2 with the over in their last 32 games following a loss.

Prediction:

Oregon struggled offensively against Auburn, but the Ducks should be able to light up this Nevada defense. The Wolf Pack gave up 500 yards to a lesser Purdue offense. Oregon’s defense isn’t bad, but Nevada should be able to put up some offense in this game. I suspect the Wolf Pack will only need to put up around 20-27 points for the over to hit in this one. Look for Oregon to air it out big time and put on a show.

College Football Week 2 Prediction: Nevada/Oregon Over 61.5
