Oakland A’s Fantasy Spin

Stephen Piscotty went 2-for-3 with a walk in the Athletics’ loss to the Astros on Saturday. Piscotty recorded the Athletics’ lone extra-base hit of the contest, a second-inning double off Astros’ starter Wade Miley. He also singled in the fourth and walked in the sixth, recording his third multi-hit effort of the year. The 28-year-old outfielder owns a stellar .289/.385/.489 triple-slash line with three runs scored, two homers and nine RBI in 52 plate appearances.

Houston Astros Fantasy Spin

Yuli Gurriel went 3-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI in the Astros’ win over the division-rival Athletics on Saturday. Gurriel plated the go-ahead run by smashing an RBI double into the left-field corner off Athletics’ starter Aaron Brooks in the fourth inning. He also doubled in the second and eighth, respectively, to cap off an impressive three extra-base hit performance. The 34-year-old veteran first baseman is hitting .303/.361/.455 in 36 plate appearances this season

MLB Betting Trends

Oakland

The A’s are now 1-4 in their last five games versus the Astros in Houston and are 18-39 in their last 57 games versus the ‘Stros overall.

Houston

The Astros have lost five of Brad Peacok’s last six home starts versus the A’s and are 3-7 in his last 10 outings versus Oakland overall.

Prediction:

The A’s were shut out on Saturday night at Minute Maid Park and will likely be held in check again on Sunday. Khris Davis is not in Oakland’s lineup as he will receive a routine day off and the A’s will face a pitcher in Keller that allowed just seven home runs across 140.1 innings last year. When Oakland isn’t hitting home runs, the A’s can be more feast than famine. Houston also has an excellent bullpen so with the A’s offense held in check, the under looks like the best play on the board today.

The Pick: A’s/Astros UNDER 9
