A’s roll in series opener

Oakland won by a count of 8-2 Friday night at New York to improve to 78-56 overall and 35-30 on the road. Jurickson Profar paced the A’s offense as he finished 2-for-5 with a home run, a double  and three RBIs. Seth Brown was a perfect 3-for-3 off the bench with a double, a run scored and three RBIs. Matt Olson was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Brett Anderson picked up the win on the mound as he allowed two earned runs on six hits with one strikeout and two walks over six innings. Homer Bailey gets the start tonight as he enters with a 12-8 record, 5.04 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 119 strikeouts over 134 innings pitched.

Voit has two-hit game

New York fell by a score of 8-2 Friday night at home versus Oakland to drop to 88-48 overall and 49-21 at home. Luke Voit led the offense in his first game back from injury as he finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. Didi Gregorius was 0-for-4 but did drive in a run. Aaron Judge ended the night 2-for-4. Tyler Kahnle took the loss in relief as he gave up three earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and no walks over one inning. Domingo German draws the start tonight as he comes in with a 17-3 record, 4.03 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 136 strikeouts over 127 1/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

The A’s are 5-1 in their last six road games. Oakland is 5-1 in the last six Bailey starts.

New York

The Yankees are 5-0 in the last five German Saturday starts. New York is 13-3 in the last 16 German home starts.

German has been awesome this season, but I don’t really like his chances against this lineup at Yankee Stadium. With German pitching well most of the season and getting great run support, I don’t see that changing today. New York doesn’t lose often at home and I don’t think it happens two straight days.
