The start of the 2017-18 college football season is still months away, but there could be a shift in the futures odds after Oklahoma star quarterback Baker Mayfield was arrested early Saturday morning.

Mayfield was arrested and booked for public intoxication and cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct, felony fleeing the scene, and misdemeanor resisting arrest in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The two-time Heisman Trophy finalist is part of a trio listed as co-favorites for the 2017-18 Heisman award with Baker, 2016-17 winner Louisville’s Lamar Jackson and 19-year-old USC quarterback Sam Darnold all listed at 7/1.

Mayfield threw for 3,965 yards and 40 touchdowns, helping lead the Sooners to an 11-2 SU record and 7-6 ATS mark last season. Oklahoma beat Auburn 35-19 in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, covering as a 2-point favorite.

Heading into the upcoming college football season, Oklahoma is posted at 8/1 to win the 2017-18 National Championship, sitting behind Alabama 3/1, Florida State 7/1, and tied with Ohio State for the third best odds.
