Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, Oregon is the favorite on the road, as the Ducks are getting odds of -10 points against Stanford. The over/under total for the game is listed at 57.5 points. The public betting currently has 83 percent going on Oregon as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NCAAF Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Stanford trying to avoid a third loss

Stanford had a nice 17-7 win over Northwestern to start the season, but the Cardinal have since lost to USC and UCF on the road in their last two games by 25 and 18, respectively. Stanford is 1-2 against the spread and 2-1 with the over.

The Cardinal haven’t looked good on either side of the ball. The defense is giving up 32.3 points and 415.7 yards per game this season while the offense is putting up just 21.3 points and 349.7 yards per contest. K.J. Costello has thrown for 351 yards and two touchdowns, missing some time with a head injury. Colby Parkinson is his leading receiver with 17 catches for 178 yards. Cameron Scarlett is leading the team on the ground with 224 yards and a touchdown.

Oregon heating up

Oregon has bounced back from its season-opening loss against Auburn by beating Nevada and Montana in back-to-back games by a combined score of 112-9. The Ducks are just 1-2 against the spread this year while going 2-1 with the under.

After a shaky start with Auburn, Oregon’s offense has exploded. The Ducks are now averaging 44.3 points and 505 yards per game on offense. The defense is giving up just 12 points and 272.3 yards per contest. Justin Herbert is looking like the NFL prospect many think. He has thrown for 868 yards and 11 touchdowns without an interception this season. Johnny Johnson III has been his top receiving target. Johnson has 19 catches for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Travis Dye is leading the Ducks on the ground with 152 yards on 29 carries.

College Football Betting Trends

Stanford

The Cardinal are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games in September and 2-5 ATS in their last seven against a winning team.

Oregon

Oregon is just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games, but 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games on grass.

Prediction:

Stanford has struggled to score and the Cardinal are going to need to put up some points to win today. Oregon has proven it can find ways to score, even against tough defensive teams. Stanford hasn’t proven the same. The Cardinal usually have a pretty good defense, but have given up 90 points the last two weeks. They could be in for more trouble today against this Oregon offense. I like the Ducks to soar past Stanford.
