YouTube star Jake Paul will fight in his fourth professional boxing match when he takes on former UFC champion Tyron Woodley later this summer.

Paul, who is 3-0 and knocked out former MMA fighter Ben Askren in under two minutes in his last bout, is an early favorite for the fight. Oddsmakers have Woodley, who will be making his pro boxing debut after a decorated UFC career, as a +130 underdog.

Woodley lost his last four UFC fights but will be Paul’s toughest opponent to date, as he was the UFC welterweight champion for close to three years before losing the title in 2019.

Here are the early Paul vs. Woodley odds

The younger Paul brother opened as the -160 favorite for this event, after closing as a -177 fave in his previous boxing match against Askren.

Paul won that fight against Askren by knocking him out in 59 seconds. It was a bit of a strange ending with the former UFC fighter looking awkward in the exchanges before getting dropped by a single punch. And even though Askren soon got up to his feet, the referee ruled the fight over.

The 24-year-old Paul has been training as a boxer for two years. He knocked out fellow YouTube star AnEsonGib in the first round in 2020 before turning former NBA player Nate Robinson into a meme later that year.

Woodley, the former UFC welterweight champion, successfully defended his title four times. He was cut from the UFC after four straight losses, albeit against some of the top fighters in the division.

Like Askren, the 39-year-old Woodley is more known for his wrestling ability. Unlike Askren, Woodley also has power in his hands as shown by his five wins in the octagon by way of KO/TKO, including highlight-reel knockouts of Robbie Lawler and Josh Koscheck.

How to read boxing odds

The most common way of betting on a boxing match is by picking the overall winner of the bout. With Paul being the favorite for this fight, his odds have the minus sign (-) in front of them at -160. This means that bettors would need to wager $160 in order to win $100. A Woodley win would pay out more as he’s the underdog at +130. This means that a $100 wager would profit $130.
