Phillies blow big lead

Philadelphia blew a five-run lead Saturday in what ended as a 9-6 loss at Miami. The Phillies led 6-1 through five innings before unraveling in the sixth and seventh. Rhys Hoskins helped lead the Philadelphia offense as he went 1-for-4 with a home run, a walk and two RBIs. Scott Kingery finished 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run and two RBIs. J.T. Realmuto ended the contest 2-for-4 with an RBI. Adam Morgan took the loss in relief as surrendered three earned runs on four hits in one-third of an inning. Jake Arrieta will start today as he enters with a 7-6 record, 4.33 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with 75 strikeouts over 97 2/3 innings.

Marlins rally past Phils

Miami scored two runs in the sixth inning and six more in the seventh Saturday in a 9-6 home win over Philadelphia. Neil Walker helped pace the Marlins offense as he finished 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs. Starlin Castro went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI. Harold Ramirez ended the day 3-for-5 with a double and two runs. Jarlin Garcia picked up the win in relief as he gave up one hit in a scoreless inning of work. Trevor Richards draws the start today for Miami as he comes in with a 3-8 record, 3.94 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 80 strikeouts over 89 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

The Phillies are 4-9 in their last 13 games overall. Philadelphia is 0-5 in its last five Sunday games.

The Marlins are 2-8 in the last 10 Richards home starts. Miami is 3-8 in its last 11 Sunday games.

Philadelphia has been a big disappointment as of late and if anyone has the starting pitcher advantage today, it’s the Marlins. Although Miami lacks a lot of offensive punch, it posted nine runs last night and Arrieta hasn’t been fooling a lot of hitters lately. I think the Phillies’ struggle continue today with another defeat.
