Raiders vs. Colts Week 4 Prediction

Raiders vs. Colts, 9/29/19 NFL Week 4 Predictions & Betting Odds

The Colts are coming off an impressive victory over the Falcons but are banged-up heading into their Week 4 matchup with the Raiders. Laying 6.5 points today at home, are the Colts a sound investment for bettors or are the Raiders the better buy?

Game Snapshot

259 Oakland Raiders (+6.5) at 260 Indianapolis Colts (-6.5); O/U 45.5

1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, September 29, 2019

Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN

Public Betting Trends

According to our NFL Football Public Betting Chart page, the Colts are receiving 56% of the betting tickets from online sportsbooks.

Oakland Raiders Fantasy Spin

Raiders RT Trent Brown (knee) is questionable for Week 4 against the Colts. Brown played through his knee injury last week but was limited to 85 percent of snaps. He’s on track to suit up after getting in a full practice Friday. With Jordan Devey (groin) questionable and Gabe Jackson (knee) still a few weeks from returning, the Raiders offensive line will be at less than full strength for Sunday’s matchup with the Colts.

Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Spin

T.Y. Hilton (quad) is doubtful for Sunday’s matchup against the Raiders. Hilton didn’t shut the door on suiting up this weekend by stating “You’ll find out Sunday” when asked about his game status. Still, his doubtful designation is a good sign that he’ll sit this one out. The negative for the Colts’ auxiliary WRs in this run-first offense is simply lack of opportunity. None of Deon Cain (56% snaps in Week 3), Parris Campbell (45%), Zach Pascal (44%) nor Chester Rogers (41%) have received anything close to a consistent role, as the offense has largely been run through a combination of Hilton and Marlon Mack. Look for Campbell and Cain to get the most additional targets if Hilton is ultimately sidelined.

NFL Betting Trends

Oakland

The Raiders are 10-21-2 against the spread in their last 33 games overall and are 5-15-1 at the betting window in their last 21 road games.

Indianapolis

The Colts are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games overall and are 32-15-1 against the number in their last 48 games when facing an opponent with a losing record.

Prediction

The Colts should still win outright but man they’re banged-up. Hilton isn’t the only injury that Indy is currently dealing with ahead of today’s game. Linebacker Darius Leonard (concussion) and Malik Hooker (knee) are both out for the Colts, who lose their two best defensive players. The Raiders stink but Jacobs is legit and if Jon Gruden can expand the rookie running back’s role, he could big up some big chunks against an Indy defense that has struggled against the run in the early going. Oakland is actually averaging more yards per play (5.9) this season than Indy (5.7), while both defenses are allowing 6.7 yards per play. This matchup is closer than it looks on paper.

NFL Week 4 Prediction: Oakland Raiders +6.5
