Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

The Raptors come into this matchup red-hot, winning five of their last six games straight up and against the spread. Their offense is humming, putting up 121 or more points five times over that stretch.

And a big reason for that turnaround is that the Raps have re-found their shooting touch. Toronto is shooting 43.5 percent from 3-point range over that six-game stretch, which is the second-best mark in the NBA in that span. The run has bumped the Raptors up to sixth in offensive rating.

Now, the Raptors will be playing their second game in as many nights, but they go against a Celtics team that has been inconsistent on offense and is struggling on defense.

The Celtics are 2-5 over their last seven games, scoring 111 points per game while ranking 25th in effective field goal percentage over that stretch. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum continue to carry the load for the C’s, but they aren’t getting much support. Kemba Walker is still struggling after his return from injury and Marcus Smart is now out.

While the C’s miss Smart’s 3-point shooting, he is really missed on the defensive end, where the Celtics rank 21st in defensive rating and could have trouble slowing down the now-rolling Raptors’ offense.

Another thing to keep an eye on is the status of the Raptors’ OG Anunoby. He has been a breakout difference-maker for the Raps this season, as well as one of their best defenders. If he.s able to suit up and take away one of Brown or Tatum, then that could go a long way for a Raptors cover.

While this is a back-to-back for the Raps, it’s hard to ignore recent form, so we’ll take the points.

PREDICTION: Raptors +3 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

Even though the Raptors are rolling on offense, the defense, which was supposed to be a strength heading into the season, is still a little cause for concern.

The Raps rank 23rd in defensive rating and allow 111.6 points per game, and while the Celtics are inconsistent when it comes to scoring, undoubtedly, they have the talent to go off in any given game.

So, while the Under has been the trend when these two teams meet lately if you combine the way the Raps and Celtics have been playing lately with this number, and it has us thinking this one will go Over.

PREDICTION: Over 220.5 (-110)

Player Prop Pick

Without Smart, the Celtics are lacking when it comes to players who can effectively defend opposing guards, which could mean a big night from Fred VanVleet.

The Raptors guard had a predictable letdown following his record-setting 54-point explosion against the Magic on February 2, but in his last three games, VanVleet is averaging 23.7 points and is shooting 47.4 percent from 3-point range. He also went off for 35 points against the Celtics in their last meeting back in early January. Take him to shoulder the Raptors scoring in this one and eclipse his point total.

PREDICTION: Fred VanVleet Over 19.5 Points (-120)

Raptors vs Celtics Betting Card

  • Raptors +3 (-110)
  • Over 220.5 (-110)
  • Fred VanVleet Over 19.5 Points (-120)
