Jesse Winker went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer on Thursday, leading the Reds to a 4-2 win in the opener of a four-game series against the Cardinals. Winker singled in the opening frame before snapping a seven-game homerless streak, connecting on a hanging curveball from righty Adam Wainwright and launching a majestic two-run blast to right field in the second inning. The 27-year-old outfielder is just two round-tripper’s shy of matching his previous career-high mark, established back in 2019. He also singled in the ninth inning to record his seventh three-hit performance in 47 games this season. He’s been one of the premier hitters in baseball over the first nine weeks of the 2021 campaign, recording an extra-terrestrial .348/.408/.636 triple-slash line with 39 runs scored, 14 homers and 31 RBI across 206 plate appearances.

St. Louis Cardinals DFS Spin

Tyler O’Neill went 1-for-4 with an RBI single on Thursday in the Cardinals’ loss to the Reds. O’Neill put the Cardinals on the board early with an RBI single to left field off righty Vladimir Gutierrez in the opening frame. It was his lone hit in four at-bats. The 25-year-old burgeoning fantasy superstar is hitting .375 (12-for-32) with four homers and one steal in eight games since coming off the injured list last week.

The Reds are 5-11 in their last 16 games in St. Louis, are 1-5 in their last six games coming off a win and are 1-4 in their last five games versus National League Central opponents.
