Spurs look for third straight

San Antonio is coming off back-to-back wins over Utah and Charlotte at home and the Spurs have covered the spread in three straight. The Spurs are 22-26 on the season, 8-14 on the road, 21-26-1 against the spread and 29-19 with the over.

The Spurs have been offensive-minded this year, averaging 113.6 points per game while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. Defensively, San Antonio is giving up 113.9 points per game while opponents shoot 46.1 percent against them. DeMar DeRozan is leading the team with 23.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game this season. LaMarcus Aldridge is adding 18.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

Clippers a little streaky

Los Angeles has won seven of its last nine, but they are just 3-2 in their last five after losses to the Kings and Hawks. The Clippers are 34-15 on the season, 20-5 at home, 27-22 against the spread and 25-23-1 with the under.

The Clippers are putting up 115.4 points per game this season while shooting 46.1 percent from the field. Defensively, Los Angeles is allowing 109.5 points per game while opponents shoot 43.6 percent against them. Kawi Leonard is leading the team with 27.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Paul George is adding 22.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

San Antonio

The Spurs have covered the spread in five straight Monday games while going 9-2-1 against the spread in their last 12 road games.

Los Angeles

The Clippers are just 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 games following a win, but 6-1 ATS in their last seven games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

Prediction:

The Clippers have been hard to trust at times, but I like them in tonight’s matchup. They have won and covered in two of three meetings with the Spurs this season and Leonard should be plenty motivated to beat up on his former team on the floor of his new home. He’s averaging 27.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in three games against the Spurs this year and I would expect even more tonight. The Clippers are healthy and their roster is much stronger and deeper than what the Spurs bring to the table.

NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers -9
