San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin

Kevin Pillar went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, four RBI and three runs scored to power the Giants to an 11-5 victory over the Diamondbacks on Friday. Pillar kicked off the Giants’ offensive explosion with a two-run homer off Diamondbacks starter Taylor Clarke in the second inning. He also tacked on a two-run single in the seventh. The 30-year-old outfielder has been exceptional of late, hitting .309 (21-for-68) with three long balls, 12 RBI and a pair of stolen bases across 18 games this month. At this stage of his career, Pillar doesn’t possess an extremely-high fantasy ceiling, but he’s worthy of a roster spot in deeper formats.

Arizona Diamondbacks Fantasy Spin

Nick Ahmed launched a two-run homer in the Diamondbacks loss to the Giants on Friday. Ahmed swatted a two-run dinger — his sixth round-tripper of the season — off Giants starter Jeff Samardzija in the fourth inning. It was his lone hit in four at-bats. The 29-year-old shortstop has made tremendous strides at the plate in recent years, but he remains more of a quality depth middle infield option in deeper fantasy formats than a legitimate starter in shallow formats.
