Public Betting Trends

According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 75% of the betting tickets are on the Pirates to beat the Giants on the moneyline.

San Francisco Giants Fantasy Spin

Steven Duggar went 1-for-3 with an RBI single, driving in the Giants’ lone run in Saturday’s loss to the Pirates. Duggar got the Giants on the board with a run-scoring single off of Jameson Taillon in the fifth inning, pulling them even at 1-1. For the season, the Giants’ leadoff hitter is slashing .244/.280/.407 with three homers, 11 RBI and one stolen base.

Pittsburgh Pirates Fantasy Spin

Jung Ho Kang swatted his fourth home run, helping to lead the Pirates to victory over the Giants on a rainy afternoon in Pittsburgh on Saturday. Kang opened the scoring in the contest with his solo shot off of Derek Holland in the fourth inning. He struck out in each of his two other plate appearances on the afternoon. For the year, he’s now slashing .154/.228/.365 with three long balls and seven RBI.

MLB Betting Trends

San Francisco

The Giants are 2-9 in Dereck Rodriguez’s last 11 starts.

The Pirates are 4-0 in their last four home games versus a right-handed starter.

Chris Archer is in excellent form, striking batters out at 34.3% clip and generating swings-and-misses at a 13.8% clip, which would be the highest of his career if the season ended today. He has a great matchup against a terrible San Francisco offense today, so run prevention won’t be an issue for Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, Dereck Rodriguez doesn’t strike out batters but he has excellent control and generates a lot of ground balls. I expect today’s game to be fast-paced and low-scoring.

The Pick: Giants/Pirates UNDER 7
