Mariners have six-game win streak snapped

Seattle lost for the first time in seven games Wednesday night with a 9-7 defeat at Texas. Austin Nola paced the Mariners offensively as he finished 3-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored. Keon Broxton was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. J.P. Crawford ended the game 1-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs. Wade LeBlanc took the loss as he surrendered six earned runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts and one walk over 4 1/3 innings. Yusei Kikuchi draws the start tonight as he enters with a 4-7 record, 5.23 ERA and 1.46 WHIP with 83 strikeouts over 114 innings pitched.

Cole runs unbeaten streak to nine

Houston cruised to a 7-1 victory Thursday in its series finale at Cleveland to improve to 70-40 overall and 32-25 on the road. Gerrit Cole picked up the win on the mound as he allowed one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks over seven innings. George Springer helped pace the Astros offense as he finished 1-for-2 with a solo home run, three walks and three runs scored. Alex Bregman was 3-for-3 with a homer, a double, two walks and two RBIs. Yordan Alvarez went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs. Wade Miley gets the start tonight as he comes in with a 9-4 record, 3.06 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 106 strikeouts over 126 2/3 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

The Mariners are 2-9 in the last 11 Kikuchi starts. Seattle is 10-31 in its last 41 road starts.

The Astros are 42-19 in their last 61 Friday games. Houston is 5-1 in the last six Miley starts.

Miley has put together a fantastic season as a back end of the rotation starter, whereas Kikuchi has been a disappointment for Seattle. With the Astros possessing a number of power hitters who crush lefties and Seattle struggling much of the season against left-handed pitching, this game is an easy decision for me. Consider the runline here.
