Public Betting Trends

According to our MLB Public Betting Chart page, 62% of the betting tickets are on the Cardinals to beat the Nationals on the moneyline.

St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Spin

Making his first start since returning from the IL, Harrison Bader went 2-for-3 with a homer and a HBP against the Nationals on Monday. Bader had come off the bench in all four games since he was activated. He’s maybe the NL’s best defensive center fielder and he’s hitting .222/.397/.444, so the Cardinals can’t sit him if he’s 100 percent now.

Washington Nationals Fantasy Spin

Nationals manager Dave Martinez said the team will re-evaluate Anthony Rendon’s (elbow) situation after Monday’s game and may make a decision on a possible injured list stint. Earlier in the day, the Nats said an MRI confirmed that Rendon’s left elbow injury was just a bruise and he remained day-to-day. However, it now appears that the club might still wind up putting him on the IL. It’s been a frustrating week and a half for Rendon’s fantasy owners, to say the least. We should have another update on the third baseman Tuesday.

MLB Betting Trends

St. Louis

The Cardinals are 42-20 in Adam Wainwright’s last 62 starts versus the National League East.

The Nationals are just 1-4 against the Cardinals when they face Wainwriting.

There should be enough offense to hit the over again tonight in D.C. The Cardinals are a right-handed heavy lineup so they should fare well against Anibal Sanchez, who has allowed 44 home runs and a .293 batting average against to right-handers over the last three years. The over is also 3-0-1 in Wainwright’s last four starts versus the Nationals and is 5-1 in his last six road outings against Washington.

The Pick: Cardinals/Nationals OVER 9
