All-Star guard Devin Booker has been red-hot recently and we shouldn’t expect him to slow down, even against the strong Lakers defense.

After a four-game losing streak, LeBron James said enough was enough and has since led the Los Angeles Lakers to back-to-back wins over the Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors.

Things get a little tougher tonight, however, as the Lakers host the always-improving Phoenix Suns. The Suns are 11-2 SU and ATS in their last 13 games, but are still getting 1.5-points against the Anthony Davis-less Lakers. Can the Suns win outright as underdogs, or will the Lakers make it three in a row?

Find out in our free NBA picks and predictions for Suns vs. Lakers on Tuesday, March 2 with tipoff scheduled for 10:00 p.m. ET.

Betting trend to know

The Suns have loved the underdog moniker this season, going 6-0 ATS in their last six games when getting points on the road. Find more NBA betting trends for Suns vs. Lakers.

The line opened with the Lakers as 1.5-point home chalk, with a total of 216.5. The spread hasn’t much movement yet, with the early action coming in on the Under. Check back later for a full report from Patrick!

Against the spread (ATS) pick

It looked like The King had torpedoed his MVP chances, thanks to a four-game losing streak where the Lakers looked completely lost without All-Star forward Anthony Davis.

While the losing streak is over, there are still some troubling numbers surrounding the Lakers in the absence of Davis. Here are the teams in the NBA with a worse offensive rating than the Lakers since AD went down on Feb. 14 against the Nuggets: The Timberwolves, the Magic, and the Rockets. That’s it. That’s the list.

Now that L.A. offense goes up against a Suns’ defense that ranks fourth in defensive rating and are one of the best teams in the NBA at defending the perimeter, ranking second in opponent 3-point shooting percentage.

On the other side of the ball, the Suns’ offense is cooking right now. During their 11-2 stretch, Phoenix ranks second in offensive rating, and it should be no surprise Devin Booker is playing his best basketball of the season.

While the Lakers have ended their skid and are still a strong defensive team, Tuesday’s opponent is the most complete they will have faced since AD went down. Screw the spread, we’re taking the Suns on the moneyline.

PREDICTION: Suns Moneyline (+105)

Over/Under pick

With a matchup featuring two of the NBA’s best defensive teams, it’s no surprise that the early action has been on the Under. But has the number come down enough for us to jump on the other side?

Well, the first thing to consider is the Suns’ offense. As noted, they are playing very well at that end of the floor, putting up 118.7 points per contest on an NBA-best 51.3 percent shooting from the floor over their last 13 games.

The issue with the Suns, even for a good defensive team like the Lakers, is that they can beat you in so many ways. Whether it’s Devin Booker killing you on the outside, Chris Paul working an inside-outside game with Deandre Ayton, or one of their many wings hitting shots, they are just tough to stop.

Meanwhile, LeBron is doing his best to carry the load for the Lakers, averaging 23.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in just over 30 minutes per game over the last two wins. Not to mention, the Over is 5-0-1 in the Lakers’ last six games versus a team with a winning straight-up record. LeBron should do enough to send this one Over the number.

PREDICTION: Over 213.5 (-110)

Player prop pick

We mentioned that Devin Booker is playing his best basketball of the season and that’s not hyperbole. The All-Star is averaging 28.5 points per game, which includes hitting on 40.6 percent of his shots from deep, and he just lit the Wolves up with a 43-point night.

Plus, Booker isn’t just a high-volume shooter anymore. Now that he has some decent teammates, Booker’s assists are up too. He is averaging 4.3 assists for the season, but that number has bumped up to 5.0 over the last 13 games. Booker can expect some double teams against the Lakers, but he’s been able to find his open teammates and trust them to make shots. Bet Booker to go Over his assists total in this one.

PREDICTION: Devin Booker Over 4.5 Assists (-110)
