According to oddsmakers, the Royals are the slight favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -120 to win. The Blue Jays are listed with a money line of +100 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 10 runs. The public betting for the contest currently has 79 percent going on the Royals at home. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Jays back to struggling

Toronto is coming off a series loss at home to the Rays this weekend. The Jays have lost five of their last seven games. Toronto is 40-67 on the season, 20-33 on the road and 52-52 with the over/under total. Thomas Pannone gets the start for the Blue Jays tonight. He is 2-4 on the season with a 6.39 ERA.

The Blue Jays are putting up 4.36 runs per game on offense this season while hitting .233 as a team. The Jays have a 4.88 team ERA with a 1.46 team WHIP. Freddy Galvis is leading the team with 21 doubles, 15 home runs and 48 RBI. Justin Smoak is adding eight doubles, 18 home runs and 45 RBI.

KC snaps losing streak

Kansas City lost its first three games to Cleveland at home this weekend, but avoided a sweep by winning 9-6 on Sunday. The Royals are 40-67 on the season, 23-32 at home and 53-48 with the over. KC has Brad Keller getting the start tonight. He is 7-9 on the season with a 3.95 ERA.

The Royals are putting up 4.35 runs per game this season while batting .249 as a team. They lead the league in stolen bases with 91. On the mound, Kansas City has a 4.96 team ERA and a 1.46 team WHIP. Jorge Soler is leading the team with 21 doubles, 28 home runs and 73 RBI. Whit Merrifield is adding 29 doubles, 12 home runs, 54 RBI and 15 stolen bases.

MLB Betting Trends

Toronto

The Blue Jays are 4-9 in their last 13 road games and 5-17 in their last 22 Monday games.

Kansas City

The Royals are 6-20 in their last 26 Monday games, but have won Keller’s last five starts.

Prediction:

Keller has been rolling over the last month, giving up just four earned runs in July over 27 innings. He did have a shaky outing in Toronto at the end of June, but I like his numbers over that of Pannone. Pannone isn’t much for a starter. He has three starts in 25 appearances this year. He has given up nine runs over his last 9.1 innings of work. Kansas City was playing pretty well prior to this weekend series with the Indians, but I think that they can get back on track today against a struggling Toronto team.

MLB Prediction: Kansas City Royals -120
